Cookie Policy
Exactly which cookies we set, what each one is for, and how to change your mind.

1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things between page loads — for example, that you have already answered the cookie banner. Some are essential for the site to function; others are optional and only used with your permission.
2. Cookies we use
We keep this list short on purpose. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles about you, and we never sell what we collect.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| uhh_consent | Strictly necessary | Remembers your choice on the cookie banner so we do not ask again on every page. | 6 months |
| uhh_admin | Strictly necessary | Keeps staff signed in to the admin panel. Only ever set for logged-in team members, never for public visitors. | Session |
| Service worker cache | Strictly necessary | Not a cookie, but stored on your device: if you install this site as an app, pages you have already visited are saved so they open faster and work offline. | Until you clear site data |
| _ga / _gid [only if analytics enabled] | Analytics — optional | Google Analytics, used to count visits and see which pages are useful. Set only after you accept optional cookies. | Up to 2 years |
| _gcl_au / _fbp [only if ads enabled] | Advertising — optional | Google Ads and Meta measurement, used to see whether an ad led to a donation or sign-up. Set only after you accept optional cookies. | Up to 3 months |
3. Your choice
When you first visit, a banner asks whether to allow optional cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are always on — the site cannot work without them, and they store no personal profile. Analytics and advertising cookies are off until you accept.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; if you do, parts of the site may behave differently.
4. Third parties
Where optional cookies are enabled, the providers below may receive data about your visit. Each has its own privacy policy, and each offers its own opt-out:
- Google (Analytics, Ads) — opt out at adssettings.google.com or with the Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Meta (Facebook, Instagram) — manage ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
We do not allow these providers to use your data for their own independent purposes beyond what is described here.
5. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is still no agreed standard for how sites should respond, so we do not rely on it. Use the cookie banner or the footer link instead — those choices we do honour.
6. Changes to this policy
If we add or remove a cookie, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above. If the change is material, the banner will ask for your choice again.
