Refund & Donation Policy

1. Donations are voluntary

All contributions made to Umeed Helping Hand through this Site are voluntary. Because funds are often allocated to active relief, education, and health programmes quickly, we ask donors to review the amount, cause, and frequency (one-time or monthly) carefully before confirming.

2. Mistaken or duplicate payments

If you made a payment in error — for example, a duplicate transaction, an incorrect amount, or a technical error during checkout — contact us within [7] days of the transaction at hello@umeedhelpinghand.com with your payment reference or receipt. We will investigate and, where a genuine error is confirmed, refund the incorrect amount to the original payment method within [10–15] business days.

3. Change of mind

Because donations are typically allocated to programmes soon after they're received, we generally cannot offer refunds for a simple change of mind once a one-time donation has been processed. If your circumstances have changed, please contact us — we're happy to discuss options, including redirecting an upcoming instalment of a monthly donation.

4. Monthly (recurring) donations

You can cancel a monthly donation at any time by emailing hello@umeedhelpinghand.com with the details used at signup. Cancellation stops future instalments; it does not refund instalments already processed, except where section 2 (mistaken payment) applies.

5. Bank transfer & wallet donations

For donations made by direct bank transfer or wallet where you upload a receipt for manual verification, please make sure the account name, amount, and reference match what you entered on the Site. If a transfer cannot be matched to a donation record within [30] days, we will attempt to contact you using the details provided before treating it as an unrestricted donation.

6. Tax receipts

Once a donation is refunded, any 80G tax receipt issued for that donation will be cancelled. Please allow time for a corrected or cancelled receipt to be reflected in your records.

7. How to request a refund or correction

Email hello@umeedhelpinghand.com with: your name, the payment date and amount, the payment method used, and (if available) a transaction ID or receipt. We aim to acknowledge every request within 2 working days.
